Classified Employee Benefits

All Classified employee benefit information is located online at the Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration, Division of Human Resources website.

Health Insurance

Employees may choose coverage from one of the health plans offered through the state of Colorado. Coverage will be effective 1st of the month after the first payroll deduction is processed. ACC contributes a specified amount toward the employee's insurance premium; the employee pays the remaining premium and dependent coverage.

Dental Insurance

Employees may choose in-network or out-of-network coverage with Delta Dental. Dependent coverage is available at an additional cost.

Short Term Disability

Enrollment in Short Term Disability (STD) is automatic, and administered by Standard Insurance Company. It is provided by the state of Colorado at no cost, and pays up to 60% of pre-disability income for up to 150 days following the required 30-day waiting period.

Long Term Disability

Long Term Disability (LTD) can be purchased on an after-tax basis. Premiums are determined by salary, and PERA vesting status. After a six month waiting period, benefits are payable up to 60% of your pre-disability earnings until age 65 if you continue to meet plan requirements.

Basic Life Insurance

The state-paid Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) provides $50,000 of coverage at no cost to employees. Additionally, you may apply for Optional Life and AD&D (Accidental Death and Dismemberment) coverage. Employees pay all of the premiums for this coverage, provided by Standard Insurance Company.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) enable you to pay for certain eligible medical and dependent/day care expenses with pre-tax dollars. By lowering your taxable income, you reduce your income tax liability. You may also elect to contribute your payroll deducted health and dental premiums on a pre-tax basis, which reduces your taxable income even further.
